My Merkaba

My good friend just gave me a Merkaba pendant. So beautiful and even cooler now that I've done a little research on the meaning. You all know me. It doesn't take much for me to grasp onto ideas that will help me be the best I can be and the most aware I can be of myself and what is around me. Isn't it beautiful?

Mymerkaba

Here is a description of the Merkaba that I found at the KA Gold Jewelry site.

Merkaba for healing and balance

The varieties of benefits of using the Merkaba are greatly varied:
It is a most powerful healing and protection tool. By utilizing the ancient Prana breathing technique, we are able to restore the Prana flow through the pineal gland at the center of our brain. This revived use of our gland, which has been virtually dormant for 13,000 years allows the heightened use of our telepathic and extra sensory perception abilities.

The Merkaba balances and revives the activities between the two sides of our brain. Such training strengthens our sensitivities and mental abilities, (at this time we use only 5-10% of our brain). The Merkaba assists us in our spiritual growth .It connects us with our higher self (i.e. ourselves on a higher level of consciousness).

The Merkaba enables us to feel unconditional love thus healing ourselves as well as others. It gives us the possibility of creating any kind of harmonious reality we desire. The Merkaba can be "programmed" to do anything (the only drawback being our own belief and imagination).
The Merkaba is also a tool that can be used to transcend into other dimensions. Revived studies and practices of the Merkaba are emerging all over the world after so many years of being suppressed from different sources, including the Old Testament, Kabala and even the traditional Tarot cards.

The Merkaba pendant is a powerful symbol and reminder to those wearing it of the power of the Merkaba and its special healing and protective characteristics.

I did a bunch of research today on the meditations and breathing that can be done to help achieve harmony and it goes right along with my need to just be and relax and all of that stuff so I'm hoping by wearing my Merkaba, it will remind me to BREATH and BE :)

Chicks Who Click in Vancouver ~ Awesome women in technology

Here I am halfway through day 2 of Chicks Who Click, an awesome conference about women in technology. The topics and speakers so far have been incredibly interesting and informative. Monica Guzman from the Seattle PI spoke (connected by phone) about the constant stream on information we are faced with and how she manages to remain productive and find balance. Monica Hamburg presented a wealth of helpful twitter tips and strategies. Just closed for lunch after an amazing panel moderated by Jordan Behan with Megan Cole, Victoria Revay, Alexandra Samuels and Maura Rodgers on the topic of "Breaking the Glass Ceiling - Women in Tech Start-Ups." During one of the breaks, I had the opportunity to interview Susan Carraretto from 5 Minutes for Mom and Say I Face to Face...check it out More to come... Heading to eat lunch.

My focus of the day ~ Be Yourself!

2009-06-13005I know I have a theme going lately and luckily it coincides with the purpose of this blog which is to live authentically and follow your intuition. I'm working on my path to awakening. This includes lots of running and nature walks, taking care of myself, not overthinking and overanalyzing and working on just "being" myself...

Was listening to this on my run this morning...

Spectrum ~ ALO (Animal Liberation Orchestra)

Here I am, once again
At the other end of the spectrum
A tug-o-war, my head is sore
'Cause I adore and I fear you

Well I can disagree with myself 'cause sometimes I feel like me and sometimes I feel like somebody else

One minute, I'm over it
Then the next minute, I feel the opposite
Then the next minute, I feel the opposite
Of the opposite, of feeling over it

An essential part of the awakening is the recognition of the unawakened you, the ego as it thinks, speaks, and acts, as well as the recognition of the collectively conditioned mental processes that perpetuate the unawakened state. That is why this book shows the main aspects of the ego and how they operate in the individual as well as in the collective. This is important for two related reasons: The first is that unless you know the basic mechanics behind the workings of the ego, you won’t recognize it, and it will trick you into identifying with it again and again. This means it takes you over, an imposter pretending to be you. The second reason is that the act of recognition itself is one of the ways in which awakening happens. When you recognize the unconsciousness in you, that which makes the recognition possible is the arising consciousness, is awakening. You cannot fight against the ego and win, just as you cannot fight against darkness. The light of consciousness is all that is necessary. You are that light.

And finally...one of my favorite Graham Nash songs:

Be Yourself

How does it feel
When life doesn't seem real
And you're floating about on your own
Your life seems uncertain
So you draw the curtain
Pretending there's nobody home
Don't theorize
Look in your eyes
They can't tell lies
Though you may disguise what you see
The mirror is free
We once had a savior
But by our behavior
The one that was worth it is gone
Song birds are talking
And runners are walking
A prodigal son's coming home
Don't theorize
Look in his eyes
They won't tell lies
But if he defies what you see
He'll give you a key
Be yourself
Be yourself
Be yourself
Be yourself
We needed a tutor
So built a computer
And programmed ourselves not to see
The truth and the lying
The dead and the dying
A silent majority
Don't theorize
Look in their eyes
Are they telling lies
The ones that they learn on T.V.
What a way to be free
Be yourself
Be yourself
Then you can free yourself
Free yourself
See yourself
Then you can see yourself
Come on and see yourself
See yourself

Discovering relaxation through BEING instead of DOING...

2009-06-13030My goal lately in taking care of myself is to work on BEING rather than DOING all of the time. Check out one of the places where I'm going to work on this...  Here's what I've been reading lately to help me on my journey... A New Earth By Eckhart Tolle.

Ellenmental.com

Ok folks... I know I posted a video MONTHS ago introducing www.ellenmental.com. Well, I FINALLY bought the domain name and directed it here. Phew, you'd think it was like climbing a mountain.  3489915895_edd7da555bAmazing how getting those couple little milestones accomplished can get me on a roll to take care of as many of the "little" tasks on my "list" done. I'm checking off the boxes one by one. How many boxes did you check off today?

Social Networks - Which are your favorites?

Tell me which social networks you spend the most time on and how you manage them?

April 28, 2009

So I say.....

I'm coming out of the storm and some days it feels that way. Today, in my world it is pummeling me with rain and hail (the kind that hurts when it hits you). I know this is temporary and the result of all of the pain and hard times is fantastic. I know I will get through and come out the other side an empowered, strong person who is no longer compromising her ideals, but right now...it just plain hurts and I feel like curling up in a ball for awhile. Here's the think... I WON'T! I'm NOT going to dwell, just briefly feel what I am feeling and strive for what I know is coming...which is GREAT! Thanks for listing today...oh, hey...look...I see a break in the clouds. Gonna go jump through it now :)
